Barr-Nunn announces pay increase for owner-operators

Barr-Nunn Transportation will be increasing its Band Pay levels for owner-operators effective Oct. 1. The Band Pay exceeds the owner-operator base rate on all loads picked up and delivered up to 1,000 miles in length.

Barr-Nunn is a dry van truckload carrier based in Granger, Iowa.

Nathan Meisgeier, president of Omaha, Nebraska-based Werner Enterprises, said his carrier is committing to hire 1,400 veterans over the coming year as part of the Freedom Haulers initiative.
