Denso Sales California has named Kazu Yanagawa vice president of DSCA’s Materials Control Group. Yanagawa — who oversees the materials operation, inventory control, procurement, logistics and Kaizen (continuous improvement) departments — says his primary goals will be to strengthen the inventory control and warehouse operation functions, and work toward improving the total supply chain.

Yanagawa joined DSCA in 1985 as a member of the procurement department. In 1987, he transferred to the production control department to support various production operations. Yanagawa moved to the materials management department in 2003.

Established in 1971 as the first overseas affiliate of the Denso Corp., DSCA is an automotive components sales and distribution company that employs 245 people in Long Beach, Calif.
