Great Dane Trailers has announced plans for participation at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas on Thursday-Saturday, Aug 24-26. A Freedom drop frame platform and a Super Seal reefer will be on display inside Great Dane’s exhibit booth, No. 20144.
The drop deck version of the Freedom Flatbed, Great Dane’s most popular platform trailer, makes a return appearance at GATS this year. In response to the flatbed market boom over the past several years, Great Dane expanded its platform trailer line to include Freedom straight frame and drop deck trailers in 2004. Since its introduction, Great Dane says it has experienced the most aggressive demand for flatbeds in its history. Specifically designed for an “in stock” program, the combination steel and aluminum Freedom is an option for owner-operators and long-haul outfits. Two specs are available; 12-inch crossmember spacing for extra strength in forklift operations, and 16-inch crossmembers for heavy loads where weight must be kept at a minimum.
Representing Great Dane’s refrigerated line at GATS will be a Super Seal reefer, a trailer engineered for light weight and exceptional structural integrity. The Super Seal is designed for the truckload carrier with a lengthy list of available options to meet the individual needs of the customer. The reefer on display will have a stainless steel exterior, an option for sidewall puncture resistance, and will be equipped with ThermoGuard lining. Introduced in 2005, ThermoGuard is a thermoplastic liner exclusively designed by Great Dane to extend the useful life of the trailer by reducing the thermal degradation that occurs with conventional insulation materials. Since its debut, more than 1,500 Great Dane reefers have been manufactured with ThermoGuard lining.
