Motor carrier Tango Transport has opened a new service center in Coushatta, La., to support its Weyerhaeuser operations. The new facility, located in a former Sunbeam plant, brings the company back to the Red River Parish for the first time since it was forced to move its headquarters from Hall Summit, La., due to lack of telephone infrastructure.
In order to enhance productivity, the Tango Transport Inc. Coushatta Service Center will operate full time and serve as a drop yard exclusively supporting the Weyerhaeuser account; Tango will have roughly 600 truck movements weekly out of this location. Also on site will be customer service representatives, dispatch support personnel and a maintenance facility; future plans call for developing the warehousing section of the plant, which will add jobs.
