ALK Technologies has introduced CoPilot Truck | Laptop 9, an enhanced version of its truck-specific, voice-guided navigation solution with the latest routing and map data. The company says it also has updated eMiler.com, its Web-based routing and mapping resource. Demonstrations of both products are available at ALK’s booth during the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas through Saturday, Aug. 26.

  • ALK says CoPilot Truck combines the truck-routing, mileage and mapping capabilities of its PCMiler software with the GPS route-guidance of its CoPilot navigation technology on a laptop in the truck cab. Truck drivers can rely on spoken and visual dock-to-dock driving directions, according to the company.
  • New features include updated 2006 PCMiler 20 map data, exportable state mileage reports for easier fuel tax reporting, and expanded hazmat routing options. CoPilot USB and Bluetooth GPS receivers now come with the SiRFstarIII chipset, which the company says speeds the acquisition of GPS satellite signals.

  • The latest version of eMiler.com includes the data of PC*Miler 20, which is accessible at www.emiler.com. eMiler.com offers combination routing so users can access the best of either the most practical or the shortest routing types with national network highways, 53-foot trailer or toll-discouraged routing. Users can enter up to 10 stops, including point of origin and destination. The hub routing option calculates routes and mileage from an origin to multiple destinations.
  • ALK says eMiler.com also delivers instant mileage for rate calculation, driver pay, fuel tax reporting, billing, load planning, auditing, bid preparation, carrier selection and lane analysis, as well as detailed driving directions and maps for dispatchers and drivers alike.
