Meritor Wabco Vehicle Control Systems has announced the release of its Toolbox Software Version 7.01, designed to offer technicians enhanced diagnostic capabilities for Meritor Wabco electronic products.

“Since its introduction in 1999, Toolbox has proven itself to be an effective means of keeping vehicle downtime to a minimum,” says Jon Morrison, general manager of Troy, Mich.-based Meritor Wabco Vehicle Control Systems. “This latest update accommodates ABS-based stability enhancement systems, as well as other key technologies that are significant to vehicle safety and performance.”

Version 7.0 revisions include diagnostic capabilities for two additional functions: electronic stability control diagnostics for tractor ABS and electronically controlled air suspensions (ECAS) for buses. Also incorporated in this update are several new features for the hydraulic power brake (HPB) diagnostics program. A user’s manual and documentation on adaptive devices and their functionality with Toolbox are included as well.

The software is a PC-based diagnostics program designed to provide technicians key service information, including:

  • Display of both constant and changing information for the system under test (e.g. ECU number and RPMs, respectively);
  • A display of both active and stored system faults, as well as the appropriate repair instructions; and
  • Activation of system components to verify system integrity, proper component operation and installation wiring.

    Toolbox currently is being utilized for diagnostics/testing on the company’s pneumatic anti-lock braking systems (ABS) for trucks/tractors, Roll Stability Control (RSC) for trucks/tractors, trailer ABS, hydraulic ABS, electronic leveling modules (ELM) for tractors, ELM for trailers, and the company’s ECAS. Toolbox is distributed by SPX Service Solutions. For more information, call 800-328-6657.
