TCA session to explore security

Whether it’s terrorism or the more mundane – and more common – scourge of cargo theft, trucking companies have never faced more security challenges. Addressing those challenges is the goal of an upcoming Truckload Carriers Association audio conference, “Are You Prepared for the Worst?” The meeting is scheduled for 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, Sept. 28.

Panelists will address how terrorists work in the trucking industry; security assessment and planning; legal restrictions in conducting security programs; and managing drivers.

Speakers will be:

  • David Hedgpeth, vice president of corporate security and safety for FFE;
  • Gail Toth, executive director of the New Jersey Motor Truck Association;
  • Curtis Shewchuk, director and chief security officer of corporate protective services for Con-Way Freight; and
  • Tim Wiseman, attorney, Scopelitis, Garvin, Light and Hanson.
