Billings Transportation Group, a North Carolina trucking company that effectively shut down in April, reportedly has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the Middle District of North Carolina, along with three of its subsidiaries.

Bob Price, a Winston-Salem attorney handling the case for Billings, told the Greater Triad Area Business Journal that Billings Transportation Group, based in Lexington, was a holding company for Billings Express, Billings Freight Systems and Metro Motor Express.
