Steven M. Briggs has been promoted to president of R-O-M Corp., a provider of products for the fire service, food distribution, military and other specialty niche markets. The announcement was made by John R. McAlister, who remains as chief executive officer of the Belton, Mo.-based company.
Briggs — who joined R-O-M in 2004 as vice president of sales and marketing — will oversee sales and marketing, manufacturing, quality, engineering, human resources, material management and information technology. Before joining the company, he led business development efforts for an international leader in the inorganic minerals industry. He also is a former Special Forces officer in the U.S. Army.
“R-O-M has benefited a great deal from Steve’s sales and marketing leadership over the past three years,” says McAlister. “He has been pivotal in establishing partnerships with our customers that help us help them succeed. Now, we’re looking forward to leveraging that expertise as he leads the entire company into the future.”
