At their recent annual conventions, the Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa state trucking associations each recognized Con-way Freight’s safety record by presenting the company with a Great West Fleet Safety Award:

  • At the Nebraska Trucking Association’s convention, the company received a Great West Safety Award Certificate for its safety rating being significantly less than the state’s average fleet rating;
  • The South Dakota Trucking Association awarded the company a Great West Safety Award for an outstanding safety record in the 1.8-to-2 million miles driven category; and
  • The Iowa Motor Trucking Association honored the company with a Great West Award in the more than 10 million miles driven category.
  • “These awards, and other safety recognitions we receive regularly, demonstrate how serious Con-way personnel are about safety when driving, and how well they adhere to our very demanding safety procedures on the dock when physically moving freight,” says David McClimon, president of Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Con-way Freight. “A superior safety record is good for Con-way, our customers and the motoring public.”
