SiriComm has announced an agreement with Truckstops Direct to solicit to its membership SiriComm’s Wi-Fi service and to resell the company’s InTouch wireless Internet access service to the highway travelers that use their facilities. Truckstops Direct represents 178 independent truck stops and travel plazas in 44 states. The membership may adopt SiriComm’s Wi-Fi network installation and resell InTouch service, which currently is available in more than 470 truck stops.

“The agreement with Truckstops Direct is important because it provides another avenue for SiriComm to continue its network expansion and sales of InTouch service,” says David Mendez, executive vice president of Joplin, Mo.-based SiriComm. “Engaging the ‘independent’ truck stops is a win-win for both organizations and the highway transportation industry as a whole.”

“Our agreement with SiriComm provides an excellent platform for our membership to be a part of the country’s largest public Wi-Fi network that offers services specifically to the highway transportation industry,” says Paul Rogers, Truckstops Direct chief operating officer. “SiriComm’s InTouch service provides a substantial means for our members to increase revenue at their stores through Internet sales, as well as keeping the drivers at the facilities longer to purchase more products and services.”
