Benson International — a manufacturer of class 6, 7 and 8 specialty trailers and bodies — recently hosted a grand opening celebration for its 180,000-square-foot facility located in Cadiz, Ky., which opened its doors for production on Jan. 3. Today, Benson is nearing full production capabilities and employs more than 100 individuals, along with housing an automated production line.

The Oct. 11 celebration was a day for the community, valued suppliers, employees of Benson International and the Benson family of dealers. Following a plant tour for those attending, James “Buck” Harless, chairman of the board of International Industries, Benson’s parent company, shared some remarks before opening the doors to Benson’s corporate office. The celebration marked the transition of Benson’s corporate headquarters from Mineral Wells, W.Va., to Cadiz.

“Benson International is proud to have its headquarters located in the Cadiz community,” said Donnie Holland, president of Benson International. “We have transferred several key members of our staff to this area and they are ecstatic over the community, school systems and all other aspects of life in the region. We would like to thank the community for accepting our plant and our employees that have relocated to the area, and we are extremely pleased with the skill level and attitude of the work force that we have brought on board.”

The celebration also served as the debut for Benson’s new 524 and 724 platform trailer literature and website, www.bensonintl.com.
