American LaFrance has announced the opening of its parts distribution center, effective Nov. 1. The company says the PDC will speed delivery of cab and chassis parts for the Condor product line to its nationwide network of dealers.
The 27,000-square-foot facility, located near American LaFrance’s headquarters in Lasdon, S.C., will distribute the full line of Condor chassis and cab parts with the exception of engine and transmission service parts. Drivetrain parts continue to be available through Condor dealers directly from those manufacturers, such as Cummins, Caterpillar and Allison.
Until now, Condor cab and chassis parts have come through the Freightliner dealer system, as Freightliner continues to transition the operation of American LaFrance to Patriarch Partners following the sale of company in December 2005.
“The parts delivery center will centralize purchasing and distribution of Condor parts, making it easier for dealers to order replacement service parts,” says Mike Pelletterie, aftermarket parts distribution manager for American LaFrance. “Condor users will experience a faster ordering process, with competitive pricing.”
The company also plans to break ground soon on a new 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in the Charleston, S.C., area, which will open next spring.
