East Penn Manufacturing has introduced a BCI Group 31 heavy-duty battery to be included in its Absorbed Glass Mat Deka Intimidator line. The battery is designed for heavy-duty engine starting and the many accessory loads typical of trucks, buses, farm equipment or other large, demanding applications. Its leakproof design enables many installation options, while providing added power, protection and reliable service for expensive equipment.

Designed to resist life-robbing vibration, the Deka Intimidator’s tight-pack plate and separator construction is suited for the daily demands of work truck and equipment service. The Deka Intimidator’s maintenance-free design provides a secure fit, with stainless steel terminals that resist corrosion for longer service life, the company says.

Eliminating the need to add water, the Deka Intimidator’s flat plate design also optimizes efficiency by making full use of the available cube space, which results in more active material and headspace — the space above the cells that retains gases waiting for recombination. Its complete use of internal cube space ensures a better fit, with less retrofit, while providing maximum power, according to the company.

The Deka Intimidator’s AGM design lowers resistance, increases power and eliminates acid spills, leaks and terminal corrosion by utilizing highly micro-porous separators to absorb electrolyte. For more information, go to www.dekabatteries.com.
