BP Lubricants USA has announced that it will launch the re-engineered formulation of Castrol Tection Extra as a CJ-4 oil in January. Castrol Tection Extra has been reformulated to better manage damaging soot through technology that boosts dispersion while exceeding the API Cummins ISM CJ-4 specification for soot-related wear, the company says.
Even after doubling the stringent Cummins ISM testing duration from 200 to 400 hours, Castrol Tection Extra still demonstrated wear levels below that of the original 200-hour CJ-4 limits, according to BP Lubricants.
