Landstar names 2006 Employee of the Year

Landstar System, a non-asset based provider of transportation capacity and logistics services, has named Lareese Campbell as its Employee of the Year for 2006. Campbell is a benefits coordinator in the human resource department at Landstar’s service center in Jacksonville, Fla. She was chosen as the cream of the crop among the 24 Employees of the Month selected during 2006 from Landstar’s service centers in Jacksonville and Rockford, Ill.

“Lareese is energetic, organized and an excellent communicator,” says Joan Norv é, vice president of human resources for Jacksonville-based Landstar. “She recognizes the vital role she plays in customer service and places strong emphasis on ensuring satisfaction and bringing out the best in others through her hard work and leadership.”

Campbell, who joined Landstar in March 2005, was named Employee of the Month in February 2006 – less than a year into her job. She lives in Jacksonville with her husband, Mark, and their two daughters. In her spare time, she does volunteer work.

Henry Gerkens, Landstar president and chief executive officer, praised Campbell ‘s work ethic and said Landstar is “very fortunate” to have her. “I’m proud to announce Lareese as Landstar’s Employee of the Year, as she exemplifies the company’s best,” Gerkens says. “Her dedication to excellence, teamwork and outstanding customer service are to be commended. I congratulate her on this accomplishment.”
