Diesel price down a penny

The national average price of a gallon of diesel fell a penny to $2.596 a gallon, nearly 15 cents higher than the same time a year ago, the U.S. Department of Energy said Tuesday, Dec. 26.

Prices fell in every region. West Coast prices dropped 3.1 cents to $2.856, but remained the nation’s highest. The Gulf Coast region had the lowest price, at $2.514 a gallon.
