Penray — a manufacturer of cooling system treatments, fuel treatments and shop chemicals — has announced it has become a “Friend of the Technician” by sponsoring the Technology & Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations’ Professional Technician Development Committee.

“Because fostering the development of qualified technicians is extremely vital to the trucking industry’s continued success, Penray is honored to sponsor the efforts of the Professional Technician Development Committee,” says Chris McKenzie, director of marketing for Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Penray. “In addition to our sponsorship, we’re proud to say that Brian Strach, our new OEM sales and account manager for the power fleet division, is a member of the Professional Technician Development Committee.”

TMC’s “Friend of the Technician” program helps fund PTDC’s ongoing efforts to increase awareness and appreciation for commercial vehicle technicians, as well as attract new technicians to the industry. PTDC does this by collectively sponsoring scholarship programs, advertising campaigns aimed at students and student guidance counselors, general outreach efforts and other high-visibility programs.
