Pegasus TransTech has formally announced the general availability of Transflo 4.0 for SQL Server. The announcement on Wednesday, Feb. 7, follows a beta period in which the company conducted several implementations with varying levels of integration.
“The beta installations were selected to give us a good scope of the possible scenarios we would likely encounter during normal upgrades,” says Don Burke, Pegasus TransTech vice president of professional services. “With Transflo 4.0 being such a significant leap forward, we wanted to ensure our customers that the transition would be a smooth one.”
The company says the transition to Transflo 4.0 is a system enhancement planned by many of the country’s most profitable carriers. “Transflo has a longstanding reputation as a powerful and reliable imaging system that meets the unique needs of the transportation industry,” says Bob Helms, chairman and chief executive officer of Pegasus TransTech. “This new release builds on those strengths and adds many features that help our customers solve business problems.”
“Transflo 4.0 was one of the smoothest installs we’ve ever had,” says John Dmytrow, imaging administrator for FCS, a provider of trucking, railcar loading and unloading, and freight forwarding services. “4.0 Administrative is amazing. These are the best tools I’ve seen Pegasus come out with yet.”
Paul Wichert, director of IT for Tankstar USA, said “the upgrade process was very smooth. It only took a couple of hours, and it went flawlessly. Our people had no issues.” Tankstar USA is a provider of bulk transportation services, with both dry and liquid bulk equipment. “We didn’t have to spend a lot of our time to complete the upgrade, and we have some of the more complicated systems to integrate with,” Wichert said.
