WSE Transportation recently recognized its company driver, owner-operator, team drivers and trainer of the year for 2006. To recognize these achievements, WSE presented a personalized leather jacket and an engraved wooden book clock to each of the five honorees.

  • Company Driver of the Year went to Joe Wiggins of Arizona. Wiggins has been with Elm Springs, Ark.-based WSE since August 1997, starting as an owner-operator. A skilled driver, he was one of six drivers who competed in the 2006 Arkansas Truck Driving Championship.
  • Harold Connell of Florida was named Owner-Operator of the Year. Connell, who has been trucking for 15 years, joined WSE in March 2001. “I would like to thank Harold for his hard work and for always being on time,” says Teresa Dean, his fleet manager.
  • Rex and Connie Kiesser of Idaho were named Team Drivers of the Year. Rex and Connie have been married for 30 years, driving for 14 years and have been with WSE for four years.
  • Trainer of the Year was Edward McAlpine of Alabama. McAlpine began driving over-the-road for WSE in 1993 and now shares his knowledge with other drivers as a trainer. “Edward would do anything for anyone,” says Theresa Scott, his fleet manager. “He is always there to help and lend a hand, while smiling and being positive the whole time.”
