Central States Trucking announced that it has acquired 20 acres of land in Joliet to improve efficiency and expand its customer base in the region. The parcel is located near the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Logistics Park Chicago. Now operating on the site formerly known as the Joliet Arsenal, BNSF-LPC is a multimodal logistics venture that integrates with surrounding communities and transportation, distribution and warehousing services.

“We are excited about this investment near BNSF-LPC since it will allow us to better serve our customers in a more efficient manner,” says Doug Grane, president of Bensenville, Ill.-based Central States Trucking, which has 300 employees and operates primarily in six Midwestern states. “With this satellite location, Central States proactively embraces the opportunity to improve upon our delivery of world-class intermodal service in the marketplace.”

Grane says the BNSF-LPC facility will allow Central States Trucking to serve new and existing customers in a more secure and economical manner, given the site’s location being within minutes of BNSF-LPC and the I-55/I-80 interchange. Central States Trucking serves customers in four specific areas of transportation: intermodal, dedicated contract, linehaul and CFS warehouse (ocean and air freight break bulk).
