Shell SuperRigs will celebrate its 25th anniversary in high-dollar fashion this year. The company announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., that it has increased the prize money to $25,000 for winners in the coveted truck beauty contest.
In addition to a chance to appear in the Shell SuperRigs calendar, attendees also will be treated to a gift bag worth $50 and a free concert by Carmen Rasmussen, a finalist in the second season of “American Idol.”
“We’re upping the prize money from $5,000 to $25,000,” said Shell representative Chris Guerrero. “We want people to understand that it is a celebration of the heritage of this event.”
The event will be held at the Petro Stopping Center on Interstate 44 in Joplin, Mo., June 21-23.
