KLLM Transport Services has announced a new pay package that will go into effect on May 1 in response to opinions from its driving force. Under KLLM’s new plan, a company driver can expect a starting pay of $.34 per mile, and teams can expect to start out at up to $.51 per mile. Owner-operators can expect to bring in $.92 per mile, plus paid reefer fuel.

KLLM also is offering tuition reimbursement for training school graduates, a $1,000 referral bonus and a quarterly productivity bonus, currently paid out to an average of 38 percent of its drivers.

Kirk Blankenship, director of recruiting for Richland, Miss.-based KLLM, says introducing the new package is the company’s way to show its drivers how much they are valued. “We want our drivers to know that they are the life force of this company, and we truly appreciate what they do,” Kirk says. “What better way to do that than by listening to what they have to say and responding to those needs?”
