Mobile Awareness says its MA-TPMS series tire pressure monitoring system automatically and continuously monitors tire status, alerting the driver to abnormal conditions with an audible alert and LCD display indicator. The system is designed to not only warn of low-pressure and high-pressure levels, but also monitor hazardous tire temperature conditions; all three warning settings are programmable by the user.
The tires do not require removal and remounting during installation of the sensor, according to the company; rather, the rugged, miniature valve-stem sensor transmitters are externally mounted, which enables the air in the tire to be refilled directly through the built-in valve stem without removing the device. Mobile Awareness says the low-maintenance system offers a battery life of seven to 10 years.
