FMCSA reopens comment period on intermodal equipment plan

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has reopened until May 21 the comment period on its notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) concerning inspection, repair and maintenance responsibilities for intermodal equipment providers and motor carriers operating container chassis. FMCSA also announced a series of listening sessions to obtain more feedback on the NPRM.

Sessions will be held:

April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Kirn Memorial Library, Norfolk, Va.;

May 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Seamen’s Church Institute, SCI’s Seafarers Center, Port Newark, N.J.;

May 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Long Beach Airport, Long Beach, Calif.
