Hino Trucks announced Thursday, April 12, that it ended its 2006 fiscal year with its best results ever. Hino says it sold a record 6,595 trucks in the United States during its fiscal year that ended on March 31, a 39 percent increase from the prior fiscal year.

Those numbers, according to Hino, make it the fastest-growing truck OEM in the United States. Hino’s record U.S. year ranks third overall for all of Hino Motors Ltd., with only the Japanese and Thailand markets selling more Hino trucks.

Hino has set U.S. sales targets of 7,550 trucks during its 2007 fiscal year, and 10,000 units in 2008.

“I am very confident with the excellent performance of our team members that this year’s even loftier goals can be achieved for 2007,” says Hiroji Kurayama, president of Hino Motor Sales U.S.A.
