Midwest Utility Inc., a full-service distributor of semi-truck trailers, announced that it has chosen the Meritor Tire Inflation System by PSI as the exclusive automatic tire inflation system installed on its premium line of trailers. In addition to retrofitting its existing inventory of trailers, Midwest Utility will recommend MTIS for new trailer orders. ThermAlert, an MTIS by PSI technology designed to help detect elevated wheel-end operating temperatures, will be available as an option.

“We’ve tried other brands and manufacturers of automatic tire inflation, but because we are so committed to this technology as a value-added for our customers, it’s imperative we have the best, most reliable system installed on our trailers and, as important, to have dedicated support backing up the product,” says Ralph O’Donnell, vice president of Burr Ridge, Ill.-based Midwest Utility. “That’s why we’ve returned to the Meritor Tire Inflation System by PSI. We can confidently deliver trailers with MTIS and ThermAlert and know our customers will be satisfied.”

Midwest Utility is an authorized distributor of East, Transcraft and Utility trailers. Customers include a diverse group of commercial vehicle operators, from the single owner to vocational and over-the-road fleets. Midwest Utility says it soon will be announcing a special yearlong program to award a Meritor Tire Inflation System by PSI with ThermAlert heat sensing technology to one of its customers each month.
