Carlisle Motion Control appoints La Varra president

Carlisle Motion Control Industries recently announced the appointment of Joseph La Varra as president. La Varra, who has 25 years of experience in owning and managing automotive parts manufacturing companies, will be responsible for all aspects of Carlisle Motion Control Industries’ operations and will spearhead the company’s aggressive growth plans.

For the past two years, La Varra owned Global Parts Solutions, a manufacturing consulting and auto parts sourcing business. Prior to Global Parts Solutions, La Varra was vice president and general manager at Dana Brake and Chassis. He also previously held management positions at Brake Parts Inc., a unit of Echlin Corp., and at Hydraulics Inc., a unit of Brake Parts Inc.

According to Carlisle, La Varra offers extensive knowledge in building high-performance organizations through continuous improvement in operational performance, product quality, production processes and sales growth. An experienced customer-focused manager, La Varra successfully has implemented LEAN manufacturing and improved inventory systems in 24 global plants. He has led teams in achieving multi-plant QS9000 certifications and focuses on optimizing efficiency and productivity, as well as opening new markets and distributions channels, the company says.

Carlisle has been a QS 9000/ISO 9001 certified company since 1997, manufacturing and marketing heavy-duty asbestos-free brake linings for vehicles in class sizes 6-8, as well as Altec remanufactured brake shoes.
