Networkcar announced today, May 10, that it was awarded a contract by the State of Delaware Government Support Services to provide the Networkfleet wireless vehicle management system for 1,800 vehicles operated by the Office of Fleet Services. Networkfleet is designed to collect and transmit data wirelessly from a vehicle’s engine computer and from a global positioning system, allowing fleet managers to continually monitor vehicle diagnostics and location information.

The State of Delaware’s Office of Fleet Services provides transportation services and operates a motor pool of vehicles for lease to state agencies. Fleet Services dispatches vehicles from more than 37 pickup sites and provides 24-hour roadside assistance.

“In competitive bidding, Networkfleet earned the award because of its technical capabilities in not only providing vehicle location, but also its automated odometer readings, diagnostic alerts, safety reports and the ability to integrate with our fleet management software,” says Terry Barton Jr., fleet administrator for Fleet Services, Government Support Services for the State of Delaware. “We have already seen tremendous time savings from not having to manually check odometer readings to perform scheduled maintenance.”

With Networkfleet, fleet managers log on to a secure website to track vehicle location and diagnostics, according to Networkcar: Customers using Networkfleet receive instant notification when a vehicle has an engine problem so it can be repaired quickly. Real-time access to diagnostic information helps fleet managers proactively fix vehicle problems before they escalate into larger issues.

“At Networkcar, we work closely with fleet customers to provide them with the information they need to streamline their fleet operations,” says Keith Schneider, president of San Diego-based Networkcar. “We are happy to be recognized by the State of Delaware for Networkfleet’s ability to improve fleet efficiency.”
