McLeod Software — a provider of dispatch, accounting and operations fleet management software for the trucking industry — today, May 17, announced the newest and most advanced version of its enterprise transportation management system. The result of McLeod’s long-standing proactive development philosophy, which calls for continued efforts to enhance its products, the new features of LoadMaster Version 8.1 are designed to vastly improve a motor carrier’s ability to manage business processes for optimum efficiency and profitability.

“More than six years ago, we completely redesigned and redeveloped our entire product line to take advantage of third-generation client-server architecture and development methods, affording us platform independence, robustness and scalability,” says Tom McLeod, president and founder of Birmingham, Ala.-based McLeod Software. “As a result, today’s LoadMaster software can run on one server or across multiple servers and on virtually any hardware or software platform. No other major software vendor to the trucking industry offers this technology. It has also given us the flexibility to accelerate release cycles, delivering two major product releases per year, each adding powerful new features into the product. Ultimately, the benefit is that there are more features, more choices and more capabilities for our customers.”

McLeod says there are several new features and enhancements in LoadMaster Version 8.1, including:

In addition to product and feature enhancements, Version 8.1 hosts new optional interfaces with third-party vendors, including CarrierWeb mobile communications, Qualcomm Hours of Service, Qualcomm T2 Trailer Tracking, TCH Interactive Fuel, and Teletrac FleetDirector mobile communications.
