Transport America names May, June Drivers of the Month

Transport America recently announced its May and June Drivers of the Month for 2007. Each driver will be presented his award during a formal presentation at the company’s headquarters in Eagan, Minn.

Company drivers selected for May were Adolph “Mark” Brinkman, who has been with Transport America for six months; Jerry Hearod, with the company for six years; and Martin Sankey, with Transport America for five years. Contractors honored in May were James Goodenough, who has been with Transport America for nine months; Prince Sebie, receiving this award for the third time in his eight years with the company; and James “Roger” Shepler, with Transport America for six years.

Company drivers for June were Tim Bauer, who has been with Transport America for one year; driver instructor Greg Payne, who has been with Transport America for 11 years and recently won first place in the Minnesota Driving Championships to advance to the national competition in August; and Ricky McFadden, with the company for seven months. Contractors honored for June were Bernard McLellon, who has been with Transport America for 11 years; Edward Eason, with the company for nine years; and Shawn Crickmore, with the company for six months.

“Each of these drivers should be extremely proud of such a significant achievement,” says Barry Mundt, director of fleet operations. “Professional drivers and contractors recognized for Driver of the Month are always among the best in the industry. These two months are not any different.”

Fleet managers nominate drivers each month for the honor. The selection criteria for Driver of the Month include on-time customer service, safety and working percentage.
