“Alligator on the Zipper,” a documentary profiling seven women truckers, is now available through the film’s website. Meredith Ochs, host of Sirius Satellite Radio program Sirius 63, described the truckers as “courageous women (who) will forever change the way you see truckers.”

Producer Jessica Chornesky tells the women’s wide-ranging stories, from Janice, who has her own authority and company, to Patsy, a Belgian immigrant who escaped an abusive past and now succeeds in flatbedding. “It took us over a year to get the right balance of subjects,” Chornesky said. “We did a lot of networking via Internet, industry people and organizations.”

The film’s synopsis states that an “alligator on the zipper” is a term describing a blown tire in the middle of the highway. The DVD can be purchased at www.alligatoronthezipper.com for $19.95 plus shipping.
