Einar Markussen has joined FT Silfies — a regional mid-Atlantic dry bulk carrier based in Nazareth, Pa. — as regional operations director for all Maryland-based terminals.
“We are very fortunate to have Einar on our team,” says Bruce Donovan, vice president of operations for FT Silfies. “He has a strong operations background in trucking, and will continue to enable Silfies to grow in the Maryland and Virginia markets.”
Markussen joins Silfies from General Electric’s TIP trailer leasing division, where he covered four leasing and maintenance facilities in Maryland. He also spent eight years with Chemical Leaman Tank Lines and Quality Carriers.
“Einar is a consummate team player and has the ability to take Silfies to another level, and having spent many years with Einar at CLTL and QC, we know he knows how to run freight and organically grow our business,” says Jim Niness, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “He’s familiar with our systems and our customer base, and can certainly provide the leadership we need to move our business to the Southeast market. We’re thrilled he’s a part of our team.”
