Allstate Leasing says it is thinking green by spec’ing a tractor that includes industry-leading equipment and technology so that real-world fuel performance can be seen and documented.
Allstate Leasing chose a 2008 Peterbilt 387 tractor with a C15 Caterpillar engine and 13-speed Fuller transmission. The tractor, which features Bridgestone tires and a rear-axle ratio of 3.25, is equipped with Thermo King’s TriPac hybrid-auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system.
Allstate Leasing’s “Green Tractor” is ready for on-the-road trials; the Eagan, Minn.-based company already has it scheduled for several months, and customers will be able to gauge the results firsthand.
