PeopleNet, a Minneapolis-based provider of onboard computing and mobile communications systems to the nation’s transportation industry, announced Tuesday, Aug. 21, that it has named Brian McLaughlin executive vice president, marketing, product and sales; and Mike Goergen executive vice president and chief financial officer. The promotions follow the appointment in July of Ron Konezny as chief executive officer.

McLaughlin has been with PeopleNet since 2001 and had been vice president of marketing and product planning. In addition to those duties, he will manage all of the company’s sales efforts in the United States and Canada. His list of key accomplishments includes establishing the company’s product-planning process, increasing the awareness and equity of the PeopleNet brand, and developing a multifaceted demand generation process. McLaughlin currently serves the industry in many capacities, including key roles within the American Trucking Associations Technology and Maintenance Council, the National Private Truck Council and others.

Goergen has been with PeopleNet since 1997 when he joined as controller and most recently served as vice president of finance. He currently leads all international finance and accounting activities across PeopleNet. Goergen, who holds his Certified Public Accountant certificate, has been instrumental in implementing the company’s current ERP system, streamlining procurement and order fulfillment, and helping build the company’s financial strength.

“I am proud to promote two of our finest talents to these executive positions,” Konezny says. “Their dedication to helping our customers succeed, combined with their history of success, earned each of them this well-deserved advancement.”
