At the Great American Trucking Show on Friday, Aug. 24, Castrol unveiled Kevin Greene’s completely remodeled 1989 379 Peterbilt, which beat out nearly 300 entrants to win the Castrol Tection Extra Big Honkin’ Truck Makeover and a $50,000 one-of-a-kind renewing from The Chrome Shop Mafia.

“Winning this contest will change the way I do business on the road,” said Greene. “The maintenance was becoming difficult to keep up with, but thanks to the top-notch improvements that have been made, I can be proud to be behind the wheel of my Peterbilt for many years.”

The makeover is “Castrol’s way of recognizing that an owner-operator’s truck is critical to his or her business,” said Tracy Drelich, Castrol’s assistant promotions manager.

Between now and Oct. 31, Class 6-8 owners and owner-operators can enter Castrol’s third makeover contest via the Castrol Truck Makeover website. Makeover sponsors include Go Green Fuel Hydrogen Enrichment Technology, Continental Tire North America, Alcoa Wheels, National Seating, Delphi/Sirius Satellite Radio, Grote Industries and Your Truck Stop.
