During last week’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, the Frito-Lay North America Fleet Team is recognizing more than 80 over-the-road drivers who will reach the career milestone of more than one million, two million or three million miles driven accident-free this year.
Frito-Lay says that, on average, it takes one of its over-the-road drivers about 10 years to reach the one-million-mile mark, and that its 1,700 Fleet associates travel a combined 105 million miles a year. Through the “Million Milers” program, as well as the company’s extensive safety efforts, Frito-Lay has seen a 64 percent decline in collisions during the past 10 years, the company says.
Frito-Lay’s top executives recognized this year’s class of “Million Milers,” along with their families, at an annual gala at the company’s national headquarters in Plano, Texas.
