Knight Transportation president to depart

Knight Transportation has announced that in connection with the company’s realignment, responsibilities formerly associated with President Tim Kohl have been eliminated.

Kohl, who joined the Phoenix-based truckload carrier in 1996 and was named president in 2004, will depart on Oct. 27.

Nathan Meisgeier, president of Omaha, Nebraska-based Werner Enterprises, said his carrier is committing to hire 1,400 veterans over the coming year as part of the Freedom Haulers initiative.
