USA Truck on Wednesday, Dec. 5, announced that the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas on Tuesday, Dec. 4, denied substantially all of its motions for post-trial relief in a breach of contract dispute with All-Ways Logistics. The court also granted the plaintiff’s motions for pre-judgment interest, attorney’s fees and costs in an amount totaling about $1.6 million.

“We strongly disagree with the verdict and the court’s order, and we are exploring our appeal options,” USA Truck said in a statement.

In early August, a jury ruled in favor of All-Ways Logistics, finding that Van Buren, Ark.-based USA Truck breached a contract agreement and awarded the plaintiff damages of about $3 million. Any additional amounts owed in relation to pre-judgment interest, legal fees and costs had not been determined at that time.

All-Ways Logistics filed the lawsuit in May 2006.
