Webasto Product North America appoints new president, CEO

Mark Wallace has been named president and chief executive officer of Webasto Product North America, the company announced Thursday, Jan. 3. Webasto Product North America, based in Fenton, Mich., provides a wide range of sunroofs, thermosystems, air conditioning and other products to the heavy-duty truck, bus, defense, marine, RV and light-duty passenger vehicle markets.

WPNA is the North American subsidiary of Webasto AG’s Global Comfort Solutions business unit. Webasto AG is one of the world’s largest suppliers of open roof systems and thermosystems to the automotive industry.

“Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the North American headquarters, which will be the catalyst for our continued growth and pursuit of customer excellence,” says Phillip A. Thompson, president of GCS and member of the Webasto AG management board. “His skills and experience in manufacturing, quality and managing highly complex programs will be a great asset to us in achieving a period of sustained growth while we continue to invest in new technologies aligned with our customers’ comfort needs.”

Wallace joins WPNA from Webasto AG’s Webasto Roof Systems Inc. subsidiary that specializes in the supply of roof systems to the automotive industry. As vice president of operations and chief operating officer of WRSI, he was responsible for the successful operation of WRSI’s six manufacturing facilities that generate more than $400 million in annual sales.
