MicroStrategy Inc., a worldwide provider of business intelligence software, has announced that it has selected Kevin Bott, chief information officer of Ryder, as the recipient of the MicroStrategy Individual Excellence in Business Intelligence award. Bott was recognized Wednesday, Jan. 16, at MicroStrategy World 2008 in Miami.

As CIO, Bott is responsible for developing and implementing information technology initiatives in alignment with Ryder’s business strategy. He has overall responsibility for the planning, delivery and maintenance of cost-effective technology solutions needed to support Ryder’s various business groups.

MicroStrategy supports Ryder’s Fleet Management Services operational dashboard that provides management with key performance indicators and early warning information on changes to processes, standard repair operations and preventative maintenance. The Dedicated Contract Carriage operational dashboard provides management with at-a-glance trend information on drivers, equipment, trips, customer satisfaction and other key performance indicators. More than 40,000 reports are run each week, and Ryder employees from multiple business areas — including finance, human resources, maintenance, vendor management and supply chain — use the data to monitor fleet management and transportation service information daily.

“Kevin Bott has exhibited exceptional innovation, vision and insight in business intelligence software deployment at Ryder,” says Sanju Bansal, chief operating officer of MicroStrategy. “Under his guidance and leadership, the data warehouse implementation has redefined the way the company does business.”
