Wabash National Corp. announced Jan. 14 that Con-way Truckload has confirmed an agreement to purchase 1,270 DuraPlate HD dry vans for 2008, with trailer production expected to begin in February 2008.

“We appreciate the relationship we have built with Con-way Truckload,” says Bruce Ewald, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Lafayette, Ind.-based Wabash National. “As one of the premier truckload carriers in North America, Con-way Truckload’s decision to purchase Wabash National’s DuraPlate HD trailer proves that they truly understand the value that this trailer design brings to their operations.”

Wabash National says its DuraPlate HD trailer continues to be the trailer of choice for Con-way Truckload, which currently operates a fleet that includes more than 2,000 DuraPlate HD trailers.

“For more than two years, we’ve relied on the advanced technology built into Wabash National’s DuraPlate HD trailer to provide our customers and employees with the safest equipment for moving freight, while giving us the performance and reliability our high service standards demand,” says Bruce Stockton, vice president of maintenance and asset management for Joplin, Mo.-based Con-way Truckload.
