NLM, a Detroit-based third-party logistics provider, recently announced that it will provide expedited and specialized transportation management services to support International Military and Government, a wholly owned Navistar affiliate’s program to manufacture Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. The vehicles, which are designed to deflect the force of improvised explosive devices, will be delivered to Iraq for use by U.S. soldiers.

“NLM is honored to participate in the shipment of the MRAP vehicles to aid in the protection and safety of our brave soldiers,” says Greg Humes, president of NLM. “The MRAP vehicles are a truly special project, and we look forward to their ultimate arrival to our finest customers – our troops.”

NLM is exclusively coordinating the expedited transportation of parts for the vehicle to West Point, Miss., from different locations within the United States and Canada. The company also is one of the providers selected to move the finished equipment to various U.S. ports. Production of the vehicles is expected to escalate with each progressive week, and NLM anticipates that it will coordinate shipments for about 60 vehicles per week at the height of production.
