Ruan Transport Corp. recently honored driver Wayne Blubaugh with the Ruan Million Mile Safety Award. The achievement recognizes his two million miles and 22 years of accident-free driving for the Des Moines, Iowa-based carrier. Blubaugh was presented his award on Jan. 19, when he received a personal plaque of recognition and a belt buckle honoring his accomplishment.

“I cannot say enough good things about Wayne,” says Tim Laffoon, Blubaugh’s terminal manager. “He has been with Ruan since 1985. That alone says a lot about Wayne and his commitment to Ruan. He is always willing to go above and beyond to help with any problems our customers have, and is always willing to help out a fellow driver to ensure they also get the job done in a safe manner.”

Blubaugh’s dedication to his company has helped earn him numerous service and safety awards. “Drivers like Wayne are Ruan’s most valuable asset,” says Jim Mulvenna, the company’s vice president of safety and administration. “His hard work and commitment to safety deserve to be recognized.”
