Xata Corp., a provider of fleet optimization software and services, announced today, Jan. 22, that Sysco Corp., North America’s largest foodservice marketer and distributor, has selected Xata as its preferred provider of onboard computer technology. Xata will provide Sysco with Xatanet, its flagship fleet operations solution, and implementation and training services. Deliveries are expected to begin the first quarter of 2008.
Sysco is the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers that prepare meals away from home. Its products also include equipment and supplies for the foodservice and hospitality industries. Sysco currently maintains North America’s largest private fleet composed of more than 9,000 vehicles at 177 locations throughout the United States and Canada.
