FT Silfies Inc., a regional mid-Atlantic aggregate dry bulk carrier, recently announced the promotion of Bruce Donovan Sr. to vice president of field operations.

“Bruce has done a tremendous job working to support the field in IT, lane analyses, structure, fuel efficiency programs, PeopleNet enforcement and utilization, all while managing the profitability of the field operations to become more efficient, increase revenue and run lean,” says Jim Niness, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Nazareth, Pa.-based company.

“Bruce is the consummate enforcer and develops standard operating procedures that will only make us better,” says Randy Sheeler, president and chief executive officer of FT Silfies. “He has done an excellent job using PeopleNet, our chosen mobile communications system, to address fuel efficiency and monitor driving habits so we can monitor our own behavior to get the most out of rising fuel costs. He’s a mentor for our field operations people, and his years of auditing experience, along with being a 24-year Marine veteran and his personality, all aid in leading our company to a higher level.”
