Pitt Ohio Express promotes executive team

Pitt Ohio Express recently announced the promotion of its executive team. According to the Pittburgh-based carrier, one of its primary focuses in 2008 is for its executive team to work together to strategically accomplish shared goals by further broadening its service capabilities to benefit its customers. The team will continue to concentrate on building customer solutions into its organization.

  • James P. Fields has been named chief operating officer. Since November 2005, Fields has served as vice president of operations. His responsibilities will include overseeing human resources, terminal operations, partnership management, safety and risk management, customer solutions, building maintenance, property management and security.
  • Geoffrey Muessig has been named chief marketing officer and executive vice president. Muessig joined Pitt Ohio in 1988 as a sales representative and was promoted to vice president of sales in 1995. His responsibilities will include overseeing sales, marketing, market research, the Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC) and corporate customer service.
  • Scott Sullivan has been named chief financial officer and chief information officer. Sullivan joined Pitt Ohio in 2001 as vice president of information technology. His responsibilities will include overseeing all enterprisewide information technology activities, and he also will be leading the company’s finance, administration, pricing and account analysis departments.

Pitt Ohio will take it to the next level by providing our customers with emphasis on extraordinary customized service and delivering specialized customer solutions. We will continue to perform with the highest of standards and commitment so that together we can reach our goals.”

    The following additional promotions have been announced:

  • Brad Caven has been promoted to vice president of operations. Caven has worked more than 20 years in the transportation industry, with more than 11 years of work experience at Pitt Ohio Express. His most recent position was director for the company’s Central region. In his new role, Caven will lead the effort to streamline functions for the day-to-day operations of 22 terminals.
  • Justine Russo has been promoted to manager of market research and the Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC). Russo has the added responsibility of managing the company’s market research activities.
  • Steve Milcoff, director of account analysis, will direct two newly merged departments and will be responsible for account analysis of new and existing business.
