Transport America recognizes drivers

Transport America recently announced its September, October, November and December Drivers of the Month for 2007. Each driver is recognized for his or her outstanding service to Transport America and the company’s customers.

Professional company drivers selected for:

September were John Klinger, who has been with Transport America for one year; team drivers Bill and Bonnie Mason, with the company for six months; and Leroy Garcia, with the company for 18 years.

October were Ellis Frederick, who has been with Transport America for one year; Dawn Hayhurst, with the company for two years; and David Yoder, with the company for six years.

November were James Kubow, who has been with Transport America four years; Murtaza Kuhl, with the company for one year; and David Abell, with the company for two years.

December were Brad Clevenger, who has been with Transport America for three years; Kirk Plankey, with the company for six years; and Palmer Boyd, with the company for one year.

Professional contractors honored for:

September were Cher Xiong, who has been with Transport America for two years; Ralph Rempfer, with the company for 15 years; and George Haywood, with the company 10 years.

October were John Larsen, who has been with Transport America for eight years; Andres Mosca, with the company for two years; and Bryan Fiegal, with the company six months.

November were Daniel Gann, who has been with Transport America for three years; Billy Slaten, with the company for one year; and Victor Schiefert, with the company 25 years.

December were Gery Schonhardt, who has been with Transport America for 26 years; Franklin Jones, with the company for three months; and Margaret Debra, with the company for five years.

“We are extremely proud of each of these drivers, not simply because this is a great achievement individually, but because they also represent the Transport America driving team — true professionals that value safety and provide industry-leading customer service every day,” says Scott Hunt, vice president of operations.

Fleet managers nominate drivers each month for this honor. The selection criteria include on-time customer service, safety and working percentage. Each driver will be presented their award in a formal presentation at the company’s headquarters in Eagan, Minn.
