Sterling Truck Corp. has announced that it has added self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) seats as a factory-installed option on its Acterra Crew Cab trucks. Suited for fire and emergency applications, these seats allow responders to wear an oxygen tank apparatus while safely buckled in.

“While responding to a call, emergency personnel need to wear a seatbelt, quickly put on a SCBA en route, and easily exit the cab when arriving on the scene,” says Ann Demitruk, director of marketing for Redford, Mich.-based Sterling Truck Corp. “These seats enable them to do all of those things safely. Plus, when SCBA seats are installed in a Sterling truck, responders know they have dependable, comfortable transportation that’s ready to go whenever that alarm sounds.”

The Seats Inc. SCBA seats are available in a high-back suspension model or nonsuspension passenger seat with underseat storage. For more information, go to www.sterlingtrucks.com.
