Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has announced the expansion and relocation of its service center in Portland, Ore. The 84-door facility, which opened Jan. 21, is located on a 15.6-acre site at 9010 N.E. 13th Ave.

“The opening of the Portland Service Center will significantly increase our freight capacity, creating major operational efficiencies which will expedite service times and reduce handling for fewer claims,” says Chuck Powell, vice president of ODFL’s Pacific Northwest region. “The onsite shop, scale and fuel add to the benefits of this new terminal. Old Dominion will be positioned to gain market share in points currently being served.”

ODFL is a less-than-truckload carrier based in Thomasville, N.C.
